We recognise that effective health and safety management is fundamental to our business success and is a core responsibility of management at all levels.”
Aims and Objectives
- Prevent all work-related injuries, ill health, accidents, and dangerous occurrences
- Comply fully with all applicable Sierra Leonean health and safety legislation and regulations
- Provide adequate resources for the effective implementation of this policy
- Ensure that all personnel are competent and properly trained for their duties
- Maintain safe systems of work across all our operations and projects
- Consult and involve employees and their representatives on health and safety matters
- Regularly review and improve our health and safety performance
- Ensure that contractors and visitors also comply with our health and safety standards
Responsibilities
- Directors and Senior Management: Overall and ultimate responsibility for health and safety within the organisation, ensuring adequate resources and leadership
- Line Managers: Implementing health and safety policies within their areas of responsibility, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring staff training
- Employees: Taking reasonable care of their own health and safety and that of others, cooperating with management on safety matters, and reporting hazards and incidents
- QHSE Department: Developing, implementing, and monitoring health and safety management systems, conducting audits, and providing specialist advice

- Compliance with international safety standards (ISO 45001) and local regulations
- Comprehensive risk assessment and hazard identification
- Regular safety training and drills
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) provision and enforcement
- Incident reporting, investigation, and corrective action
- Emergency response planning and preparedness
- Occupational health monitoring and wellness programs
